Heavy-duty semi-truck
This heavy-duty electric semi-truck unit for long-haul freight transport is built on a two-axle chassis designed for semi-trailer operations. Its structure comprises a steel frame, a steerable front axle, a driven rear axle, air suspension, disc brakes, and a spacious long-haul cab. The powertrain is electric, featuring traction motors, power electronics, and the mechanical transmission integrated into a single rear-axle drive module. It delivers a peak power of approximately 600 kW, with a dual-motor electric axle transmitting torque directly to the drive wheels via a four-speed transmission. Energy is stored in three lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery packs with a combined capacity of 625 kWh. These packs are mounted in the lower section of the frame, delivering power to the traction motors via power converters. During acceleration, inverters regulate the current and frequency supplied to the electric motors; during deceleration, the motors can act as generators, feeding a portion of the kinetic energy back into the battery. The vehicle offers a range of up to 500 km without intermediate charging; it supports charging at up to 400 kW, while MCS megawatt charging technology is designed to further reduce downtime. The aerodynamic cab features an extended front section, an optimized subframe, and underbody fairings; the interior includes an adjustable driver's seat, a sleeping berth, a multifunction dashboard, storage systems, and equipment for long-haul operations. The electric powertrain architecture allows the traction battery to power auxiliary systems: an electric power take-off (ePTO) providing up to 90 kW is available for refrigeration units, while a mechanical power take-off (PTO) delivering up to 70 kW is provided for hydraulic mechanisms.
