Harbour Tug

This vessel is a harbor and escort tug designed for operations with large-tonnage ships in ports and terminals, as well as for mooring maneuvers. Measuring 32 m in length, 12.60 m in width, and with a draft of 6.4 m, the tug features a reinforced steel hull, a high bow, a working deck equipped with towing gear, and a central superstructure housing the wheelhouse. A key feature of the tug is its unique configuration of three azimuth thrusters arranged in a triangle: two located at the bow and one at the stern. Each thruster can rotate around its vertical axis, allowing it to change the direction of thrust independently of the others. This layout enables the tug to rapidly change direction, move sideways, turn almost on the spot, and generate thrust in various directions without the need for a conventional rudder. Three diesel engines—each rated at 1,770 kW at 1,800 rpm—drive the respective azimuth thruster units; the total installed power is approximately 5,300 kW, delivering a bollard pull of 80 tonnes in both ahead and astern directions. The maximum free-running speed is 13 knots. The deck accommodates towing winches, fairleads, bollards, and anchoring and mooring equipment, while the hull structure is designed to withstand significant longitudinal and transverse loads from the towline. The vessel's interior houses the engine room containing the three main engines, generator sets, fuel and auxiliary systems, as well as crew living quarters and sanitary facilities; the wheelhouse is equipped with navigation instruments and controls for the three thrusters. The tug is also fitted with firefighting equipment, including two water monitors with a capacity of 1,200 m³/h each. The tug combines a compact hull, the high maneuverability of a triple-screw azimuth propulsion system, a powerful diesel plant, and heavy-duty towing equipment into a single specialized vessel.
